It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Eddie Ball, former Director of Coweta County 911 and longtime dedicated member of NENA and APCO. The family is planning a private service at a later date. A possible memorial service to allow Eddie's friends in 911 to pay tribute is being explored. Please remember Eddie's family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Welcome to the Georgia Chapter of NENA web site.

What is NENA?

The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) was established to assist communities throughout the United States with their efforts to install 9-1-1 emergency telephone number systems.

NENA promotes those efforts through cooperation and collaboration with the thousands of emergency services, communications centers throughout the United States, and with telephone industry’s trade associations, the Federal Communications Commission, and various other organizations.

Emergency services professionals throughout the United States and Canada and several other countries have formed local NENA Chapters in order to promote NENA’s goals and objectives.  NENA’s theme is:  “One Nation - One Number”.

The NENA Mission

NENA’s mission is to foster the technological advancement, availability and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system.

In carrying out its mission, NENA promotes research, planning, training, and education.

The protection of human life, the preservation of property and the maintenance of general community security are among NENA’s objectives.
