President’s Message

Well, one year has passed since I took office as the Georgia NENA President. I must be getting old, it seems like only yesterday. I think the past year was a very successful one for Georgia NENA.

I would like to thank the Georgia NENA Board members and the entire committee members for a very successful spring and fall conference.  For all of those that did not attend you missed two very good conferences.

We have just finished another successful Spring Conference at Lake Blackshear. We had good attendance and every one who attended stated that they had fun with the Olympics and that the classes were very interesting.

We are now working on the fall conference that will be held in Athens, Georgia on October 6 thru 9 at the Holiday Inn. This also is going to be a good conference.  Please help us get the word out and plan on attending so we can make this a successful conference.  We will have our vendors there to show all their new products.  Hope to see you all there.

I have appointed three committee members to work with Georgia APCO on a Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) between these two agencies to start looking into joint conferences for 2009.  Both agencies are well on their way at developing this MOU.

I am sure both agencies with be discussing at their next board meeting.  This is something we have been working on for some time and it now is coming together.

Thanks to the Georgia NENA board and to the Georgia APCO Board.  Thanks again to the committee members and the NENA board for making 2007 a great year.
